Church of Ascension & Women's Homeless Initiative
By Jon Little Church of the Ascension partners in ministry with the Women’s Homeless Initiative by serving a meal to homeless women once a month at Althea Center for Engaged Spirituality, another faith community in our neighborhood.
Women's Homeless Initiative is a consortium of churches working through Capitol Hill United Ministries to give sanctuary and hospitality every night of the week to women who would be on our streets. What WHI offers is a chance to have these women be known, heard and cared for with compassion, dignity, respect and presence of heart.
